The snow was falling thick and fast. You watched the flakes flutter down and pile up on the inches that had already stuck. In your opinion snow was best enjoyed when you were warm and currently you sat snuggled in a blanket drinking hot chocolate with all the toppings. Someone knocked on your door or you thought they did. Deciding it ignore it you pulled the blankets closer and set your mug down. There it was again, a short rap on your front door.
“Open the door (Name) I know you are home.”
The masculine voice confirmed your thoughts and you deduced it was Sherlock standing on your doorstep in the cold. Deciding to be kind you shuffled over and opened the door letting him in along with a cold blast of air. Snow clung to his brown curls and flakes decorated the shoulders of his coat. Without a word to you Sherlock removed his coat and shoes before making himself at home on your sofa.
“Do you mind? A simple thank you would have been nice.”
“Thank you, what for? You merely let me in like any person would. Nothing special.”
You crossed your arms and raised an eyebrow at his statement. Sherlock had taken over the sofa leaving to either sit on the floor or his feet. You took the latter and amid the nest of blankets you settled yourself between the consulting detective’s feet. He said nothing so you snuggled down between his legs. The blankets draped over your form as you slowly fell asleep whilst Sherlock was in his mind palace.
When morning came around Sherlock had left and in his place was a hastily scribbled note; ‘Thank you (Name)’

So when it came to you, the one thing that could thaw the heart of the ice-man, he wanted to keep you separate from his work as much as possible. He wanted to keep you safe and protected and innocent from the things he heard and saw.
However that proved harder and harder as your relationship became more serious: and now, Mycrof

Cold - Merlin x Reader One Shot
‘Now remember Merlin, my niece is going to arrive either today or tomorrow, depending on how her journey goes. So I want you on your best behaviour and no funny business, got it?’ Gaius lectured Merlin just as Merlin was about to walk out of the door.
‘No funny business, got it,’ Merlin smirked and Gaius couldn’t help but to return a smile.
Both Merlin and Gaius went about their daily work with Gaius keeping an eye out for your arrival.
Merlin was just about to go to bed and Gaius had long since claimed that you must be arriving the next day when there was a gentle knock on the door.
‘Gaius?’ a so

In the Absence of Snow( 10th Doctor x Reader)
The Doctor was worried, you’d been avoiding him for what seemed like days, he could never tell in the Tardis, and when you were around you were withdrawn. You had always been shy and hesitant but never like this, he missed your usual soft giggle and quiet enthusiasm.
The Tardis whirred as if trying to soothe his uneasy thoughts and he wondered if it had something to do with the fact that tomorrow was Christmas back on Earth. He pulled off his thick-framed glasses and ran a hand down his face with a sigh before ruffling his permanently wild hair and deciding call it a night.
As soon as he left, you popped up in the console room, a smal
