Literature Text

Without answering you pulled your hand out of their grasp. Your mouth opened but no words came out but you did do a good impression of a goldfish. Unable to look at him in the face you chose to stare at the thinning carpet instead. Jim had warned you that they may know and he was true, you felt like such a fool for not listening to your brother. Quickly you decided that it would be easier to leave and turned to go but a hand held your wrist and preventing you from going anywhere. You span your head back to glare at the man but he did not look bothered. Despite the Holmes' being your brothers 'arch enemies' you had not been interested and so did not know you held your wrist.

“Let me go.”

“That will not be happening. Perhaps you could accompany me somewhere more private so we can talk.” Something in the ginger haired males tone made it sound like a command not a question.

Hesitantly you nodded and the grip on you was released. As he moved past you down the stairs you studied his face; the cold blue eyes, slight wrinkles, a smattering of freckles. Walking behind him you took in his clothing; the tailored suit for a casual event, the way everything was perfectly pressed full of clean lines. The conversations Jim had had with you about the Holmes brothers replayed in your mind. The government official, the Ice Man, Mycroft Holmes was the brother in front of you. You cursed to yourself Mycroft was suppose to be the smarter one and head of the British government suddenly following him did not seem like such a good idea.

As you thought off any possible way to get out of your current situation you silently followed him to a small restaurant and slipped into the small booth he gestured at whilst he engaged in conversation with the waiter. A bottle of wine and two glasses were placed on the table then you were left alone. Mycroft sat down opposite you and poured out the wine as you tried not to fiddle with the hem of your top. A glass was pushed in front of you but instead of taking a sip you ran your fingertips around the top. Mycroft watched you taking in your simple makeup and the way your eyes lacked the malice that could be found in your brothers. As if you knew he was staring you looked up and made eye contact with him.

“So how did you know about me? Jim never mentions me and I'm not involved with that 'world'”

With baited breath you waited for his answer, how much did he truly know about you? Mycroft took his time in answering knowing that you were curious.

“I know about everyone I need to know about thought you were a chance find (Name).”

As he addressed you by name you glared, he had done his research.

“I know where you work and everything else I could possibly be interested in is at my fingertips.”

Unsure of how to respond you took a gulp of the wine in front of you. You were torn between threatening him or running and leaving the country but before you had to choose he started to talk again forcing you to focus on his words.

“But you are different to him, you care.”

“What do you want?” as you questioned him your (e/c) eyes locked on to his trying to work out where the conversation was going.

“Nothing. At the moment.”

“Well I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not useful so I'll leave you to your wine.”

You stood and noticed that the restaurant was empty and Mycroft had rose with you. Despite the fact you were wearing heels he still had a couple of inches on you. Quickly you sized him up, he was not covered in muscles but you had a feeling he would be stronger than he looked.

“Thank you for the lovely evening.”

Your manners shocked him allowing you to slip out of the nearby door and disappear into the night.
Mycroft's ending for Party. I hope you enjoy it.

I own nothing but the plot
